Established in 2014 as part of an Action Plan of the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research to promote the entrepreneurial spirit among young people, the status of student entrepreneur allows young project leaders aged under 28 to create their business while benefiting from appropriate support, legal advice and financial aid.
Other advantages linked to the status itself also allow you to acquire credibility and visibility without giving up the advantages of student status (social security, transport, gap year, training, etc.).
It is therefore an ideal compromise for a young person who is hesitant to embark on the entrepreneurial adventure alone and at the same time a real possibility of realizing a project which of course goes beyond the test of the internship in a company, in teaching and economic benefits.

A national status and a rewarding diploma
In addition to the credibility it brings, this status allows the young entrepreneur to feel supported, helped and recognized in a world of work that is not necessarily very welcoming towards young people outside of traditional courses. This status is accessible to any young person aged 28 and carrying a business project and allows them to enhance all the experience they have acquired in their career as a business creator with a reassuring diploma that officially validates the skills acquired. Thus, losing track or failing and finding themselves at a dead end after taking the risk of creating a business will no longer prevent young people from at least trying the entrepreneurial adventure.
The support offered to students during the gestation and realization of the project allows them to work efficiently and avoid certain pitfalls, to acquire visibility and credibility thanks to partner networks. The student is supported by one (or even two) tutor(s) throughout his/her course, he/she can access a co-working space reserved for student entrepreneurs and can thus present and launch his/her business project with confidence and real chances of success.
The diploma allows the student entrepreneur to acquire a certain authority and real references to be considered as a full-fledged player on the job market.

Student Hubs for Innovation, Transfer, and Entrepreneurship (PEPITE)
PEPITE are student hubs (there are 29 across France today) that welcome students and connect them with socio-economic stakeholders who will stimulate the development of their professional project. Each student is supervised by a hub tutor and an external advisor (from the world of work, or an association). Thanks to the hub's stimulation and the back-and-forth between theory and practice, students learn by doing, but they can also broaden their theoretical knowledge through specific training, obtain financial aid, and legal advice that will give substance and strength to their project. These PEPITE act as both incubators and also constitute a solid and reassuring framework that attracts many socio-economic stakeholders. It is therefore an initiative that should evolve and improve in the coming years to become ever more innovative and effective.
